WAINSCOTING

Wainscoting is a style of panelling that covers the bottom part of a wall. It is only on interior walls, not on the outside walls. It is usually made out of wood that looks like it is in panelling.

2. the lining itself, esp. as covering the lower portion of a wall.
3. a dado, esp. of wood, lining an interior wall.
