BRICK

red brickBrick are defined as clay or mud that is formed and baked into units that are used in construction of various structures.

 

Remember in The Three Pigs story, the third pig made the wise decision to build with bricks, versus straw or sticks. Was it really wise? Why?

A brick structure takes a skilled builder to create. Brick working is called MASONRY and a person who lays bricks, a brick layer is called a MASON. The mason usually learns how to build a brick structure through training from other masons. This is called being an apprentice.

And bricks are heavy! The walls are strong and must be multiple layers thick to be sturdy and to be able to hold the weight of the building.
